Memorial Park Rules and Regulations

Rosedale Rosehill Cemetery has guidelines in place to help maintain a respectful and well-kept environment for all visitors. Rules vary depending on where your loved one is interred, so we encourage you to review these regulations for our Memorial Park areas.

We reserve the right to initiate enforcement of its rules and regulations at any time and to remove any adornment that is unsafe, inappropriate or offensive.

Floral Arrangements

Fresh cut flowers and articifical flowers have different regulations:

  • Fresh Cut Flowers: are permitted in Memorial Park Sections to be placed at the head of the grave.

  • Artificial Flowers: are permitted in Memorial Park Sections only from October 15 to April 15, annually, to be placed at the head of the grave.

Flags

Flags are permitted in Memorial Park Sections in accordance with Veterans Administration practices and must not exceed two feet in height.

Permitted flags are limited to:

  • U.S. Flags

  • Flags of the Armed Forces Branches of the U.S. Military

  • POW/MIA Flags

Flags may be displayed from Memorial Day until 4th of July, and on Veterans Day. Any flags placed for Veterans Day will be removed two weeks after the holiday by our maintenance crew.

Temporary Markers

All temporary markers used in the Memorial Park Sections must be flush to the ground. Their size can be no larger than 6” x 12”x 3/4” with a stake no longer than 12” in length.

The markers must contain the name, year of birth and death of the deceased. All approved temporary markers are allowed for a period of six months from the date of interment.

We recommend that all temporary markers include the grave location for identification purposes.

Forbidden Items

Outside of the above items, no other objects or type of adornment will be permitted in the Memorial Park Sections on a regular basis.

Forbidden items include, but are not limited to:

  • Vigil Lights

Concrete Vaults

Concrete vaults are generally required on extra-deep interments in Memorial Park Sections.

However, we may designate certain grave spaces where these vaults will not be permitted on extra-deep interments due to extenuating circumstances.

Our Rosedale and Rosehill cemeteries get a weekly cleanup where unsightly flowers or non-permitted items will be removed and discarded.
